The Legend Of Korra In Concert Tempe Concert reviews
Good music! Good show!
Of course, you know what I mean if you know his music - Rod Stewart is undoubtedly one of the masters. You miss some really good stuff if you don't. The songs were golden, and of course, the band was great.
In addition to 2 killer guitarists, bass, and drums, there were 3 female backup singers, a percussion section, a section with 2 saxophones and a trumpet, and a string ensemble from local musicians sitting in for a few songs. Most of these superb musicians were multi-talented, playing more than one instrument or singing as well as playing, including a violinist. He gave everyone in the band a chance to "strut their stuff" and did rocking numbers, acoustic group, and phenomenal!
He paused his singing and the band paused playing from time to time so the audience could sing the songs. What struck me was how good the audience was: on pitch, in tune, and in unison - we totally knew the songs. Other artists do this as well.
The stage background was one big video screen, with 7 smaller ones in front. He had video clips about his younger years and family, as well as a bit for the "wounded warrior" project. The backgrounds were well done, showing total class.
